Procurement Engineer

Job Description

Our future Procurement Engineer investigates the market with specifications and performance requirements for Industrial automation / manufacturing industry and products, analyzes technical and commercial data based on the responses received, re-iterates with bidders, recommending those most desirable using tools like bid comparison tables / BOQs. On approval, the Procurement Engineer issues the Purchase Order, tracks and expedites the supply, handles Inspections and delivery to site. The Procurement Engineer also provides assistance in supplier-site co-ordination for site handling, storage installation and commissioning.

Key Duties

  • Negotiate the best payment terms and contract conditions, maintaining high level of integrity.
  • Ensure to establish commercial balance between the budgeted cost and actual cost
  • Preparing comparative statement and analyzing quotations.
  • To create and maintain a daily call & sales report.
  • Accurate record keeping and ensuring the implementation of penalties on vendors as per the terms & conditions of the purchase orders.
  • Assist departments in developing the procurement budget & forecasts for the financial year.
  • Establish delivery terms, time and stages of inspection for the supply with Project Management Team.
  • Ensure to procure material with 5R i.e. Right Quality, right qty, Right time, right price & right source
  • Maintain approved vendor list along with price list of material
  • Create and maintain record of purchases
  • Create standard price lists for regular items such as Switch Gears
  • Initiate new contract initiatives with Vendors to ensure lowest costs, best deliveries and superior quality procurement
  • To make enquiry, collect quotations & make comparative statement for each & every material
  • Prepare periodic reports pertaining to stock, price trends and development of alternative source of supplier
  • Issuance of Purchase order.
  • Tracking and expediting of Shipment.
  • Handle Delivery and inspection of items. Assist in Insurance claims, if any.
  • Storage and handling on site, prior to use, during installation and commissioning and closure of any surplus/defective materials after the completion of the project.
  • Client acceptance/rejection, warranties and other related follow up matters with the supplier till completion of Project.
  • Keep updated with market developments and assist in Vendor Development

Requirements

  • Total 5-10 Year in Procurement in Contracting. Manufacturing/industrial automation Industry is mandatory
  • Commendable negotiation skills
  • Fluent Verbal & Written English competency
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office, especially MS Excel and Word
  • Experience in Procurement Operation using SAP / ERP modules and implementing them on manual level
  • Knowledge of India and Middle East markets desirable.
  • B Tech/ Diploma Electrical Engineering or relevant experience
